Thanksgiving

Today is October 12, 2020.

Today is Thanksgiving here in Canada!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends here, and in a few weeks, I get to do this again for all my friends and family in the states!

But the other day I heard a statement on one of my favourite music stations, The Message.

“What if you woke up today with only the things you had thanked God for yesterday?”

You can search this online and see many different reactions to the question. Good and not so good. Everyone has an opinion about what it says. Well, so do I.

I see this as a question to me about what I am thankful for, thankful enough to thank God for what I have in my life. Just a small portion of the things I am thankful for, starting with my husband, my son, my daughter-in-law (who I consider my daughter too), all my grandkids, (Lucas, Levi, Eva, Rylan, Kalin, Lavendar, and the newest, arriving in January, hopefully with middle name David), friends, Gloria, my church, my pets, my ability to read and think.

As I mentioned, this is just the starting point of what I am grateful and thankful for. This list continues on and on. And after hearing the quote above, it has made me conscious of being thankful each and every day. It starts with the list above but I don’t know where it ends. I have never gotten to the point where I cannot find something to be thankful for.

Thanksgiving will become an everyday thing.

I want to wake up tomorrow with all my list from family to friends, to pets to all the blessings God has bestowed on me. I thank Him for it all.
