unconditional

Ever had a moment or a day where it everything seems stop? A question from someone that make you really think about who you are, what you believe? You hear a statement on tv, or from a friend, or even in passing while walking through the store, and it causes you to search inside yourself, to see deep inside, do you really believe what you hear? Are your beliefs real or are theirs?

Everyone has an opinion, agreeing with you, disagreeing, or neutral, not all of us agree. If we did we would all be robots, or Borg. My opinions might not coincide with yours, but we need to learn to accept the right that others have to voice their thoughts. My opinion about the best cake ever, or my husbands about the best pizza, or yours about the best store to go to shop; those opinions are based on what we like, whether food, activities, cars, vacations. Usually they have their roots in some time in our past where we had a great time. They are associated with feelings that bring great memories. Good times with friends or family.

Our dislikes cone about the same way. The taste of a food that made us sick, the smell of the hospital where a loved one ended their days. These lead the way to our opinion that that smell or taste, or even colors mean something bad.

Opinions today can also be influenced by what we see and hear in the news, on social media, even listening to others opinions. And opinions can be based on our beliefs. Whatever our opinions are, they are still ours. Opinions can change. Beliefs can change. As we learn more facts, listen more, study more, we come to see that possibly our opinion at first was based on incorrect information. Or possibly we were just following the crowd.

Do I want my opinion to count? Of course I do. But I should listen to yours too, without fighting and arguing or judging.

Maybe God feels this way too, sometimes. He wants His children to follow Him! My opinions and beliefs should be based on what I learn as I study His word. It is not easy, the world gets in the way. Life here gets in the way. Public opinion gets in the way. See where this leads? To a maze of information that I have to sift through every day to see the truth that is His. I am trying to find my way through all of it and want to come out the other side in His arms. I want this for all my friends and family and all of you!

But some times, no one wants an opinion, they just want me to listen, not judge, and still love them with no conditions attached, like God loves us all.
