We go through many doors each day. Bedroom doors, front doors, store doors, the door to our car or the bus door. How many times do we need to knock to be let in? How many time do people knock on our door to visit or try to sell us something? I know, there are not many door to door salespeople any more, now they “knock” old our phones. But you get the drift.
Then there are the doors we don’t actually see. The door to our heart, the door to our soul. Some say the eyes are the door to our heart or soul.
How often do we knock on other peoples doors, actually look at them and ask to be let in to help or just to say hi, or I love you. Our spouse, our children, our friends. And how often do they say come in?
God tells us in Matthew 7, “Knock and it shall be opened unto you”. So I know if I ask, or seek or knock on God’s door He will open it to me, and I can now enter into His presence, visit for a while, rest with Him.

But today, here is something for you to ponder: How many times do you think that He has knocked on our door, the door to our heart and soul? And have we answered the door? We are His sheep, and sometimes, we get lost. I know I do! But like a shepherd, He comes looking for me. He asks me where I am, He seeks out my heart to help heal, He knocks on the door to my heart and soul.
I know each time I don’t always answer, but I am learning to answer more and more.
I do know this, I am glad He always answers, aren’t you?
