Merry Christmas

I love Christmas. Just ask my husband, lol. He would tell you that if I could have Christmas every day, I would. I am one of those people that will start singing songs the 1st of November, and keep singing until mid January. (sometimes even singing to myself in the summer!).

I do love giving gifts to people. Seeing their faces light up, hearing the laughter as presents are opened. These are memories that will last a lifetime and are my best presents that I receive. I love to give!!

I have received so much in my life. My life being one of the things that I received. I was adopted, so my life could not have even been if my birth mother had not decided to have me. Then there was my mama and daddy, and my brother. And a wonderful childhood full of wonder and fun.

There is also my son, who was and still is a wonderful and loving gift. And his family, my enlarged family, they are favorite people, all 9 of them!!

Music was my favorite part of everything, singing, learning to play the piano, and guitar. I was never really good at playing, but am learning again now. And my husband, who is one of my best gifts, is learning the keyboard too!

But singing, oh my, how I loved to sing, and still do. This is my favorite gift from my Abba, my Heavenly Father. Music!!

But the best gift of all? The baby that was born, whose life Christmas is really about. Giving gifts, having parties, eating too much turkey; these are all things that we do. But this year, at the end of a 3 year period of times of isolation, times of learning new ways to do things, (like zoom meetings, internet shopping). And living with fear of it all. Now there are new ways of living, of doing every day living.

But after all is said and done, the gift of Jesus, our Abba come to earth, is still the best! He knew me before I was born, he is still with me as I “do” life. He watches over me, and protects me.

And my wish for this Christmas, as everyone goes about celebrating in whatever way you do, my wish is that everyone would come to know about the real reason for this celebrating, the birth of Jesus.
