(This is a post from 2020, and since our church is having a fasting and praying week, I thought I would post this again, it is still relevant. And since Easter is only a few weeks away, and some of us will follow Lent, it would follow that this would be a good place to start that as well. Blessing to everyone!!)

Imagine this: Praying 3 times a day!
Daniel did this. Other people do this. What would happen in our lives if we dedicated ourselves to praying 3 times a day, each and every day? It does not take a long time; our prayers can be as long or as short as we feel necessary, but I do know this, if we start and make a habit of this, the prayers will get longer, more meaningful, and more honest. After all, prayers are our words to our Father! And the more you talk with someone, (and that is what prayer is), the more you want to talk to them.
You begin to learn about them, they get to know you better, although I do believe that He knows me better that I will ever know Him!
In todays world, this is a habit that I am trying to incorporate into my life. I try to purposefully stop and pray, even if only for a moment, and even if only to say thank you. I know, I know, you are thinking what do we have to be thankful for today? Well, I am thankful that I am able to write this, to see the sun outside my windows, to hear the birds chirping as they go about their busyness of the day.
Right now, it might be a more difficult task to remember what we have to be grateful for, but the most important thing this week that we can be grateful for is that Jesus took the sin of the world on His shoulders, died for us, and rose again, He conquered death, all for us!
So even if things look bleak, and it is a lonely time for us as we are not able to be with family this Easter, we can be thankful for His sacrifice and His love for us.
I think this will make it easier for me to follow through on making a habit of praying 3 times a day, and then start to aim for more! After all, the benefits sure do outweigh the alternative!
