The Wonder of it All

Today is a day where it is easy to get distracted. I start one thing, then notice that something over there needs to be done, so I start that, then remember that I did not finish the first thing. BUT… before I get to the first thing again, my mind start to wander thinking about what all I need to do!

I have learned to make lists. And I do enjoy seeing each task getting crossed off. But if someone looked in on me in the middle of all this, they would assume that nothing would be completed. Now at the end of the day, if they looked again, they would see that all looks just fine.

I think this is how my life works as well. Maybe others too! I start out in one direction, going just fine and then something catches my eye, and I have to go look. In the process of doing this, I have seen many wonders that my Abba, my God has created, that I would not have otherwise seen. Lakes in the middle of nowhere, small museums that no one else would have found, fields of flowers that seem to go on forever, waves crashing on the shore of a remote stretch of the ocean.

I know that there are many things out here that distract me, and no doubt others as well, but I do know that in the end, I have seen things that have let me know that I am loved. That God has created things just for us to see and appreciate and will bring us joy in knowing that He cares enough to show us small glimpses of what His world really is.

I guess this is about His treasures. And we are all on a treasure hunt, you just need to keep your eyes and ears open to see and hear His wonders.

I will give you hidden treasures,
    riches stored in secret places,
so that you may know that I am the Lord,
the God of Israel, who summons you by name.

Isaiah 45:3
