Went to a luncheon today with a large group of seniors from church. It is always a fun time, we get to know each other better and lots of times meet new friends! Logic games are usually played and Terri, the leader of the group, always has jokes or riddles for us. Here’s one: What do you call bears with no b’s?
We heard a speaker, Gareth Goossen who was very entertaining and thought provoking, as he makes one think about how you are living out what God would like to see in your life. Things we do change as we get older but He still wants us to be actively looking for ways to bring others to Him. So this week, I will look for opportunities to do that!
By the way, the answer is “ears”
Have a beautiful week!

More showers today. Yesterday was sunny but colder and windy. Riding to the canal was nice because we got to see a freighter this time. And pictures as well.
Going for drives is one of David’s favourite things to do, and I like to drive so most times it works out okay. One of my favourite things is to get lunch and watch show at home. The two don’t mix, lol! But we find ways to make each other happy.
I also like to just cook at home without buying anything out, especially with the prices today. I have discovered many types of soup that works well for 3-4 days of meals. Since the world went through covid, I feel we all have learned ways to cook and be more content with what we have.
In Philippians, Paul learned to be content with what he had. He learned this while living a life that included a lot of time in prison. I like the way The Message puts it:
“I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hand empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am.” Philippians 4:11-13
I know I am still learning this.

You know, there are so many types of addictions around. Some are familiar to everyone such as alcohol, drugs, smoking. But you can be addicted to anything. If you have something in your life that is taking over everything else, you are addicted to it.
Addictions can be hidden for a bit, no one sees what you are doing. On the surface you seem like nothing is happening, nothing is taking over. But in a moment, or so it seems, it starts taking over. You have to have more of whatever you are addicted to. What ever that may be for you.
For me, it is sugar. If I don’t get some, I get headaches, I get grouchy, I get tired and don’t want to do anything. The bad thing, I know better, I know what I am addicted to, but it draws me in. You cannot even shop without seeing sugary products.
You see what I mean! Just thinking about a cupcake and it shows up! And before breakfast too!

I know what to do, now I just need to do it. I need to do as it says in Matthew 7:7, “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be open to you.” You see, in my own right, I cannot always walk away from sugary things. So at those time, I need help, I need to remember that I have God at my side helping me. He has other plans for me, and He will show me what to chose. He will help anyone who honestly asks.
