Lesson Four:
From Milly: Do you ever get tired of calling my name and I don’t show up?
Me: I know it’s a difficult thing to do, to continually call someone and they don’t show up. I want to see Milly, let her know we do love her and she won’t be sent back to the “cages” at the “other place”. But, I don’t see her, and never hear her answer me.
Me to God: Do you ever get tired of calling my name and I don’t show up? You can see me, and I know you love me, no matter what, You are love and that is part of being your child, you love me. I just don’t always answer when You call out to me.
Lesson Five:
Milly still has not come out during the day. I know she comes out at night to eat. She is being so cautious and she is still scared. But…I do need her to come out. I won’t force her, that would only make her more frightened and less likely to trust us or learn to love us.
God gave us free will. He won’t force us to love Him. I don’t think you really love if it is forced. He wouldn’t force us to do anything either because if He did, how would we ever know Him and come to love Him? How would we ever know His love for us?

Lesson 6:
I think I scared Milly last night. I saw her! I called her name but she ran, really fast, and hid from me again. I did not mean to make her leave, I was just so excited to actually see her!
We now have a “Milly Cam” set up so we can see her at night as she plays, which she does a lot! She has toys that I have to collect, after finding them, and put them back in a pile for the next time. At least we now know for sure we have a cat here, lol.
Are we like that with you, God? You call out our name, we hear you, but we run and hide. Is it because we are scared, or because we just don’t know what to do?
Is it because we just don’t recognize just how much you really love us and want the best for us?
Or do we think we are not worthy of Your love?
It could be any of these reasons or one of many others. Each of us have reasons why we would run and hide. Fear, shame, embarrassment, anxiety. So many reasons, or excuses.
You are waiting patiently for us to understand why we run and hide, and you will be there with open arms when we finally run to you.
We have many more lessons to learn from Milly. I did not think that a small cat would be the way to learn lessons about myself, and You, but I have learned. I am anticipating more to come, and looking forward to it.
And I am looking forward to the day Milly will come out to see us, and hopefully run to us, just as we run to You!
